Riders say that 'it gets better each year' and 2013 was no exception. The community came together in support of raising money for Cancer Research. There were Scouts, their Leaders, bike mechanics, Rotary and Police volunteers. Over 120 volunteers looked after the riders on route who took advantage of the refreshment stations along the course.
Some riders had trained for months, others did not, but this did not take away from the perfect weather, the great company and the fantastic volunteers on the day. The ride followed the previous year's format, starting at Unley Shopping Centre and finishing at the beautiful Unley Oval. There were options to choose from, whether to do the full distance of 107km or take a shortcut and save 16km. There was also the Woodside start option which again proved popular.
The winner of the ride was Cancer Research. Ride Like Crazy Incorporated raised $160,000 for the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation and the Neurosurgical Research Foundation. Since the inception in 2010 the ride has raised a much needed $640,000 for nominated charities.
Thanks to the generous Sponsors of the 2013 event.
